Short Trips: Cedar
Key, FL
I know I mentioned
before that this runway is short, but I forgot to say "fuck"
before. What I meant to say was that it's FUCKING short. Yeah, that's
better. Now, having said that, check out this Piper Twin Comanchee on
take-off!
|
We were just
milling around off the runway taking some cheezy
pictures when they got back from town and were ready to leave.
In this first
shot, they're just starting to taxi out to the runway. This is the
only area of the taxiway that you can use. The rest is a private
road now.
|
|
Here they are
making the turn. You can click on any picture for the large version
of it.
You can see
my tripod in the forground. This was a really nice plane. |
|
Here they are
on their way down to the other end of the runway for take-off. Notice
that I am standing on one corner of the taxiway at the end of the
runway, and that is the other end at the right edge of this picture.
Notice where
those black signs are. |
|
Here they go!
Wheels are almost up already before they even get to those signs.
Good thing, too. Those signs are almost 3/4 of the way down the
runway! |
|
Off they go,
to some far-away place that would take us forever to get to in a
little single-engine 172. |
But you know,
right now I don't really care how long it takes us to get somehwere.
Right now I just enjoy flying. If the plane went faster, I'd just
go farther but I'd still spend the same amount of time in the air,
because that's what I do it for.
The
trip's the adventure! |
